Hands on Learning Centre Junior Preschool

Junior Preschool 3 years to 4 years

The Junior Preschool year is all about exploring, sharing, and learning while developing independence. Our teacher ratio is one teacher for every seven students. We work with our preschoolers to encourage a sense of community and start to focus on skills that will prepare them for kindergarten including language ability, early math skills, and learning to cooperate with friends for group activities.

Our teachers plan full days of age-appropriate activities that build academic, emotional, social and physical skills.

Our Junior Preschoolers program includes:

Music and Movement
Gross motor development
Circle-time, storytelling, language games
Whole-group learning to boost social skills
Dramatic play, block building
Creative arts
Fine motor development

A typical day for our Junior Preschoolers looks like this:

7:00 – 8:30 am – Free Play/Arrivals
8:30 – 9:00 am – Centre Play
9:00 – 9:30 am – Circle Time
9:30 – 10:00 am – Snack
10:00 – 10:30 am – Art/Sensory Play/Science
10:30 – 11:00 am – Music and Movement (Gym)
11:00 – 11:30 am – Centre Play
11:30 am – 12:15 pm – Lunch/Bathroom Routine
12:15 – 2:15 pm – Quiet Time
2:15 – 2:30 pm – Bathroom Routine
2:30 – 3:00 pm – Snack
3:00 – 3:30 pm – Outside Play/Gym
3:30 – 4:30 pm – Centre Play
4:30 – 6:00 pm – Group Free Play/Departures
